- Is the wrist sleeve or fingerless glove better for de Quervain's tenosynovitis? Also is the material waterproof?
- Hello Melissa! I would suggest the Wrist Sleeve for that condition, because even though the gloves cover more surface area on the hands themselves, the Wrist Sleeve focuses more concentrated infrared therapy at the base of the thumb and wrist itself, making it more effective for De Quervain's tenosynovitis. All Incrediwear products are composed primarily of fabric, so they will definitely get wet just like any other fabric when exposed to water, and the efficacy of Incrediwear products will not be decreased by being worn in the water. However, because our product’s semi-conductive elements are activated by the wearer’s body heat, the infrared waves released by this activation will not occur when you are submerged in water that is colder than your body's surface temperature. Of course, as soon as the fibers are activated by your body heat again, they will continue to give off the infrared waves that increase circulation, decrease inflammation, stimulate the lymphatic system, and alleviate pain. Just like with any swimsuit or piece of clothing, be sure to rinse out the Incrediwear product immediately after use in ocean/pool water, to remove the chemicals and minerals that are absorbed by the fabric, to avoid any possible degradation of the fibers. - We ordered the wrist sleeve (size small) for my daughter and unfortunately she has very small forearms. However if she slides it up near her forearm it is tighter. How tight should it fit to be effective?
- Incrediwear products do not need to be tight to do their job, nor should they fit tightly! Rather, they should be just snug enough to not slide down constantly, but should not be compressive, either. This fit should make the item very comfortable which can then be safely worn 24/7, just like a sock. The Incrediwear technology utilizes an anti-inflammatory and healing technology that is superior to compression. The fabric in our products is imbedded with semiconductive elements that are activated by the wearer's body heat; for this reason, our products should maintain continuous contact directly with the skin ideally, but if need be, a very thin, non-insulating (i.e. cotton) garment can be worn under the product. This activation of the fabric leads to the emission of infrared waves into the body and is how it drastically increases circulation, decreases inflammation, and stimulates lymphatic drainage. - What is the length of the wrist sleeve and of the fingerless glove.? I am recovering from a clean fracture of distal radius of my left wrist. The fracture extends into the joint. I will be in a hand splint for about a month. I have to decide which one would be best. Thank you!
